Sue was born in Mansfield, Ohio. The youngest of six children, she learned early how to make up stories to keep out of trouble. That art of prevarication, as her mother nicely put it, led to a knack for fiction writing.
She lived during the idealized times of the 50’s and 60’s with a pharmacist father and a stay-at-home mother. “As the youngest, I got the best of both worlds. I learned from my older siblings’ mistakes, but as my parents were worn out from the first five, I had loads of freedom to make my own.”
After high school, she attended Ohio State University with the intention of teaching Kindergarten, until someone suggested she might be a distracting influence on the children.
She and her husband Larry live near three of their four children, along with their rescued mutt, Abby. Four granddaughters help keep them young and amazed.
You've packed a big story into your microfiction and made a statement about the hereditary component of alcoholism as well. That's impressive for so few characters.
Nice microfiction! Kind of sad, but I guess since he knows he's making the same mistakes, perhaps he'll correct them. :) Nice to see your name on the Linky.

Ooh, that can happen, too. So sad when it does. Good take on the prompt, Sue.
